Sister Writes Book Launch at Bloor / Gladstone Library June 5 2014

Sister Writes offers free creative writing classes for women in Parkdale and the surrounding neighbourhoods in Toronto’s West End. It is Toronto’s only free writing program for women and is about making and sharing art in and as a community.

Sister Writes was founded by writer Lauren Kirshner in 2010. Women from at least a dozen countries meet for weekly writing workshops. Each session of the program ends with the launch of Sister Writes magazine, written and illustrated by the participants.

“Empowering, inclusive, and definitely hands-on, Sister Writes is dedicated to the principle of building community, one story at a time.” says Lauren Kirshner, Founding Program Director of Sister Writes.

The public launch takes place at Bloor / Gladstone Library in Toronto, just east of Dufferin, Thursday, June 5 2014 from 6:30 to 8 p.m with some readings, refreshments, and activities. All welcome. See the flyer below.
